Mental Health First Aid Training

Cal State LA is proud to offer Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training for students, faculty, and staff at Cal State LA. Participants learn risk factors and warning signs of serious and developing mental health challenges, how to talk with a person who might be experiencing a mental health challenge, and strategies to help identify the next best steps. To receive an MHFA certificate of completion, participants must stay for the duration of the training.

Training takes place through a combination of online pre-work and an in-person instructor-led session.

If you wish to schedule a training session for a group of 15 or more, please email Jhoanna Avelino ([email protected]) for more information.

If you are interested in participating in a training session, please see the fall training dates below. We require a minimum of five attendees per training.
